Surviving The Storm
We have written this great little book about a real Mum’s COVID story.
This book was written to honour and celebrate all those parents and carers who had the courage and resilience to last through the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020.
It helps parents and carers reflect on the ups and downs of parenting and includes some helpful wellbeing worksheets and tips which can be used at anytime.

Both these books are worth a read, exploring the differences between boys and girls and how to nurture their development.
- Pink Brain Blue Brain by Lise Eliot
Another book about the differences between the male and female brains, this book is more academic, and explores how parents can bridge the gap between the male and female brain.

For Separated Parents
This book book titled “Mum, Dad can you hear me?” was written to help couples that are going through the difficult period of separation to understand the it from the eyes of their kids and realize the importance of shared parenting.
In the book Irene (means “Peace” in the Greek language) finds herself in the middle of her parents’ fights. She feels helpless and confused and she turns to her diary to express her feelings and better process her parents’ divorce. With the help of her grandmother and her teddy bear, Irene reconciles her feelings and finds a way to better communicate with her parents as they go through their divorce.
Although the book is written for 9 – 13-year olds, it is an almost necessary read for parents!

- Motherkind by Zoe Blaskey
She has so many people on there with really interesting perspectives, her overall ethos is that parents need to work on themselves first to be able to parent well – which compliments what we’ve been learning through Sharing Parenting.
- Parenting Shy Children
I listened to this Woman’s Hour episode on 9th December, where there’s an interview with the founder of Shy and Mighty about parenting shy children. It’s just under 10 minutes long and runs from about the 13 minute marker to around the 22 minute marker in the episode.
Although we’re not often challenged to deal with shy children (they’re not normally ‘trouble-makers’ – or rather, exhibit behaviour that causes trouble!) this is an eye opener.
